Family Support Services is a program designed to assist families who care for a family member who has a developmental disability.  The intent is to promote the unity of the family and to prevent inappropriate institutionalization.

The Board sets an expenditure limit for families on an annual basis.

Examples of the kinds of assistance parents ask for are respite care, home modifications, and adaptive equipment.

This service is for individuals that do not have a Medicaid Waiver.  There is an application for services that need to be completed for this service.  Income guideline does need to be met for this service to be approved.  This service runs on a Fiscal Calendar from July 1st through June 30th each year.
